Seegrid Robots Provide a Better Way Run Your Operations!

Synopsis
Privately held Seegrid Corp, a company spun out of Carnegie Mellon's Robotics Institute, provides distribution centers, warehouses and manufacturing facilities with a better way to run their operations. The company's vision-guided robots, with its WalkThroughThen WorkTM technology, automate the movement of product quickly, easily and affordably into existing operating systems and processes.

Overview
Privately held Seegrid Corporation was founded in Pittsburgh, PA in February 2003 as a spinout of Carnegie Mellon University's Robotics Institute. Dr. Hans Moravec and Dr. Scott Friedman co-founded Seegrid to develop a new class of affordable industrial mobile robots that operate reliably in dynamic material handling environments. Seegrid's core Industrial Mobile Robotics (IMR) technology has more than 30 years of innovation and research behind it.

The company's vision-guided robots automate the movement of product, resulting in:

  1. Improved flexibility - The robots reduce the inefficiencies in processes by automating the movement of product to support the outbound side of the business, regardless of distance or location.
  2. Reduced operating costs - Seegrid's systems reduce manned travel time, immediately improving worker productivity, eliminating deadheading, improving overall safety, and reducing maintenance costs.
  3. Increased scalability- Seegrid robots let Operations keep up with the ebb and flow of business variability much easier, allowing facilities to turn inventory coming in to profit going out.

Seegrid's WalkThroughThenWorkTM technology implements quickly, easily and affordabily into existing systems and processes. From integrating with WMS process workflow, to complying with safety and maintenance procedures, Seegrid understands the investments made in existing businesses and is committed to providing the tools that needed to make it better today.
