Overview
Pittsburgh Irish Festival, now in its nineteenth year, has captured the hearts of people all over the world, as this once small cultural festival now reaches an international audience. Performers from Ireland, Canada, Germany, Scotland, and England travel to entertain audiences from 36 states, Canada and Ireland. Pittsburgh Irish Festival offers the region's largest single nationality cultural celebration. The Festival is one of the co-founders of the North American Alliance of Irish & Celtic Festivals, as well as a 17-year member of the International Festivals and Events Association, comprising over 3000 international event and festival planners.
As Pennsylvania's largest Irish festival, the Pittsburgh Irish Festival strives to showcase the best of Ireland's culture and heritage to the region while contributing to the rich cultural awareness of Irish history and tradition that exists in Pittsburgh. The Festival has created a unique approach to a cultural event - a family event offering language, history, geography, sports, dance, music, food, arts, symbols, tourism, the Irish in America, and genealogy all in one location.
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania honored our hard work with the designation of Pennsylvania Preferred Festival. This program was designed to market the festival to in-bound visitors and increase tourism; to create an awareness of Pennsylvania festivals as a whole; and to increase economic impact for the region. We received this designation two years in a row.
